By Tim Johnson- Executive Head of Carlyle College
At Carlyle College, our vision has always extended beyond the classroom. From the very beginning, we set out to build a school that serves its community with integrity, purpose, and care, offering a high-quality independent education that remains accessible, sustainable, and future-focused.
As part of our long-term planning, we are pleased to share our 2027 fee strategy, an approach shaped by careful financial stewardship, meaningful parent engagement, and a deep commitment to the families we serve.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
Carlyle College was founded on the belief that excellent education should be offered at a fair and responsible price, without compromising on teaching quality, co-curricular opportunities, or learning environments. Just as importantly, we value open conversation and feedback from our parent body, which continues to inform how we grow and evolve.
As the school matures and enrolment increases, our cost structure naturally shifts. Many core operational costs remain fixed, and as these are spread across a growing student body, greater flexibility becomes possible. With three years of operational data now guiding our planning, we have a clear understanding of our current and future financial needs.
Looking Ahead to 2027
While it is uncommon for independent schools to consider reducing fees, Carlyle College believes that thoughtful, well-planned innovation can strengthen both affordability and long-term sustainability. By 2027, we anticipate operating at a scale that allows for a substantial reduction in fees in selected phases, supporting enrolment growth while reinforcing the school’s long-term financial health. Parents will, as a result, benefit from as much as a 25 to 27% reduction between Grades 5 and 10, and 18 to 21% between Grades 1 to 4.
There are no changes to 2026 tuition fees or existing fee agreements, and all future adjustments will follow the standard annual review process and be communicated well in advance. However, by sharing our 2027 fee structure early, we aim to provide clarity, transparency, and support for family planning.
The revised fee model also introduces clearer alignment across phases, with a predictable and deliberate progression as children move through the school. In addition, an enhanced sibling discount structure recognises and supports families with more than one child at Carlyle College.
The 2027 Fee Schedule is available on our website, www.carlylecollege.com, or via our admissions team at admissions@carlylecollege.com.
Introducing the Carlyle Community Foundation
We are also proud to announce the launch of the Carlyle Community Foundation, a registered non-profit organisation established to expand access to Carlyle College through bursaries and scholarships in the High School phase.
The Foundation will support deserving students across academic, sporting, and cultural areas, particularly those who demonstrate the values and character that define the Carlyle community. As the Foundation grows, so too will the opportunities it creates for learners to thrive.
Bursary and scholarship opportunities will be introduced alongside the continued development of our High School. Families with children in Grades 6 and 7 are encouraged to attend upcoming High School Open Days, where further information will be shared. Families with children currently in Grades 8 to 10 are also welcome to contact the school to discuss potential applications.
Building for the Future, Together
These initiatives reflect Carlyle College’s commitment to growing responsibly, planning intentionally, and remaining deeply connected to the community we serve.
We look forward to continuing this journey alongside our families and welcoming new members into a school that values people, purpose, and possibility.
